LOGISTICS IS THE FUTURE

The first reason is that the logistics sector is keeping up with the times. Behind every large logistics process is large-scale automation. For example, think of ordering products online (e-commerce, e-fulfillment). Orders can sometimes be delivered to consumers the same day. To make this possible, logistics employees are needed to come up with innovative solutions. This helps to renew, simplify, and make processes more sustainable.

Due to the rapidly growing e-commerce sector, large distribution centers are being created, making the future outlook for job opportunities and job security in the sector very promising.

A DYNAMIC LOGISTICS WORLD

The second reason is that the logistics sector is challenging. Managing the delivery of the right products at the right time and place is not simple. No two days are the same in logistics. The key is to prevent deviations in the system. One day, part of the system might be in development, while the next day, a system error might need to be fixed.

Systems must be active 24/7, and the globalization of businesses and their customers is creating ever-growing demands and requirements. The focus of companies is increasingly shifting from national to international.

DIVERSE TASKS

The third reason is that the term “logistics employee” is broad. This means a logistics professional can find a job in many different links of the logistics process, working with various companies within the sector and even beyond. Tasks can range from operational, tactical, strategic, to supportive roles.

Examples include scheduling transport, managing and inventorying goods, preparing transport documents, and handling customs activities while also responding to major changes like Brexit and shifts in business models. But logistics also involves roles in areas like IT, Marketing, Business Development, Sales, Tenders, Customs, and Customer Service, among others.
